Ofiicial visit: Vladimir Semashko, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Belarus in Russia, visited Miory Rolling Mill

Vladimir Semashko, who was, as the general director of “MMPZ Group” Petr Shimukovich explained, at the very beginning of Miory Rolling mill construction, visited our mill. He supervised at the time processes from the development of an architectural project to the installation of concrete and metal frames, laying of engineering networks of the main objects. And on March 11, his first visit to an already operating mill was tooken place. The official delegation also joined the governor of the Vitebsk region Nikolai Sherstnev, his first deputy Oleg Matskevich and the chairman of the Miory district executive committee Igor Kuznetsov.

The mill’s specialists demonstrated to the guests the full technological process – from decoiling a raw roll, passing it through a reversing mill, an electrolytic cleaning line, processing in hood-type annealing furnaces to entering a temper mill, where a metal sheet of the original thickness is rolled to required parameters, and the tinning line itself.

Later the workshop was ПThen a working meeting took place. The participants discussed different topics – from number of manufactured products and sales markets till competitors of “MMPZ Group”. The Miory Steel top management shared their vision of the dynamics of increasing production.

Potentially Belarus needs 30 thousand tons of tinplate per year. Our plant will produce 240 thousand tons annually. The bulk of the production is intended for export.
