Miory Steel has produced the tinplate with an unique sheet thickness of 0.1 mm
The first tons of tinplate with a thickness of 0.1 mm were produced at the Miory Rolling mill. For Belarus and the CIS countries, this is the first tinplate with such unique characteristics.
The electrolytic tinning line, where a black plate “turns” into the tinplate, began production at the end of this year. Until now, the plant produced sheet metal with a thickness of 0.13 mm to 0.5 mm (according to the request of the customer).
At the same time, in cooperation with experts from SMS group, a partner of the Miory Rolling mill and a supplier of equipment, the production lines were debugged and technical parameters were set. With the release of a batch of products with a sheet thickness of 0.1 mm, Miory Steel becomes one of the leaders in the production of this type of tinplate.
Due to its technical, operational and environmental properties, tinplate with a thickness of 0.1 mm is, in fact, a product of the future – there is a big interest in the world market from packaging manufacturers.
According to the development strategy for the current year, the plant will reach monthly production of at least 10 000 tons of products, based on the calculation of the equipement capacity – about 150 thousand tons of tinplate per year, as well as produce and sell cold-rolled annealed coil.
