The first tons of tinplate with a thickness of 0.1 mm were produced at the Miory Rolling mill. For Belarus and the CIS countries, this is the first tinplate with such unique characteristics that it immediately makes the mill one of the world leaders in the production of this type of material.
The Glubokoye Milk Canning Plant is the first in Belarus to sign a contract for the supply of Miory Steel tinplate.
Igor Kuznetsov, chairman of the Miory Rayon Executive Committee, stressed: "...Thanks to the contruction of the Miory Rolling Mill as well as the creation of more than 500 new vacancies, a significant flow of human resources is fixed into the region, which spurred the development of social sphere, housing construction, trade".
The Minister of Economy of Belarus got acquainted with Miory Rolling Mill, as well as with tinplate production and raw material preparation process.
At the beginning of March, representatives belarussian companes - Glubokoye milk canning plant, LLK-NAFTAN, BelBank, Polotsk Drinks and Concentrates Production Unitary Enterprise, branch office of Braslavryba etc. - visited our plant to get acquainted with the production and consider cooperation in packaging.
The mill's specialists demonstrated to the guests the full technological process - from decoiling a raw roll, passing it through a reversing mill, an electrolytic cleaning line, processing in hood-type annealing furnaces to entering a temper mill, where a metal sheet of the original thickness is rolled to required parameters, and the tinning line itself.
MMPZ produced the first parcel of 150 tons of tinplate. The innovative technology has been fully tested on it. As a result, a high-quality and the first in Belarus tinplate of electrolytic tinning was obtained.
The list of countries to which our coils went to include Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands, Russia, Ukraine.
"The new plant went into operation end of the last year. We are ready to switch on full capacity. The official launch was confirmed on December, 24.
